Finding Alternative Rewards
You can find rewards anywhere
Progress is sometimes slow when we are changing things in our lives. As much as we would love to accelerate our results, some things simply need to happen in their own time, at what sometimes seems a snails pace. It can be liberating to discover that we sometimes find multiple benefits.
- When writing a book, even if it is rejected by every publisher on earth, the reward becomes improved writing skills.
- In losing weight or gaining muscle, even if you are not seeing the results you would like, the reward is a healthier you. Even if you can’t see the results – you can probably feel them.
Look for these rewards in everything you do. You might even discover new incentives that go beyond your original goal.
Let’s take weight loss as a classic example. Try to mind map all the potential benefits you can receive even if you fail to reach your ideal weight. Keep in mind- you can do this with any goal.
If you are interested in making your own mind map either draw it out on a piece of paper or use a mind map software like the one I used for the above picture. To use the one I used go here.
