Law of Attraction - Feelings

The law of attraction states that when we want something, all we have to do is ask for it, allow the universe to provide it for us and then receive the thing we have asked for. This sounds so utterly simple. But is it?
Sometimes the things we want the most defies explanation, or even worse, we wouldn’t know what it looked like or felt like even if it manifested right before our eyes. Cars, houses or a new mate are some of the many things we can see, feel and touch quite clearly. Those type things are effortless. You can visualize yourself driving your new car, admiring the finish as you fill up the gas tank. You can feel the embrace of a new mate even if what you are really doing in the real world is hugging a pillow. I suggest avoiding the pillow hugging if you are the type to leave the curtains open and have nosy neighbors.
What if the very thing we want is to feel a certain emotion on a persistent basis? Some of the many emotions we might want to experience could be love and to be loved, faith instead of worry and self doubt. After all, you cannot hug an emotion. You can’t drive around in faith. And considering the one pitfall to the law of attraction, that being that we get more of what we think about, how can we just simply stop being negative and start being positive?
For me, the answer has always been just to practice. You can practice emotions the same as if you practiced guitar. The best way I have ever found to practice emotions is to use a journal and work on it every day. The way I see it, we talk to other people all day. Why can’t we take a few moments to talk to ourselves. Mind you, I have never been one to look myself in the mirror and spout loving phrases at my reflection, so writing it all down every day sort of imprints new information into that thick skull  of mine. Let’s face it, sometimes our subconscious mind takes its sweet old time changing aspects about ourselves. I have never seen any true evidence to suggest that the old three weeks to a new habit rule works but I can say that you can really make some progress on your emotional state by working steady every day in a journal.
For those afraid of using a notebook or something similar in the fear of someone else reading it and laughing at you, I suggest a free little program called idailydiary. You can create a password for it so no one but you can see it. It has a cool little calendar feature on the bottom so you can easily navigate to any day of that month and it automatically switches to the current day. Whenever I get a new computer or have to take one back to factory it’s usually the first program I go get.
